About the Book

In 2025, Peter Lehmann, an internationally well-known critic of psychiatry and thorn in the flesh of established psychiatry, turned 75. This volume includes biographical, practice-oriented journal articles, book contributions and interviews from a 45-year writing career. They reveal the dark and dangerous side of modern psychiatry and ways to protect oneself from it or leave it.

In his foreword, Dr Martin Zinkler, MD MRCPsych and Member of the UN Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture, writes:

"Lehmann anticipated and influenced today s unambiguous position of the United Nations and the World Health Organisation on psychiatry. For both organisations, it is now undisputed that psychopharmacological treatments can only be carried out with informed consent, that there can no longer be any substitute consent, that coercive measures must be abolished, and that all support must be in accordance with the will and preferences of the person concerned."
